Current Study
Welcome to the PARENT STUDY!
The PARENT Study is built on a great foundation of past studies in California and Washington
To learn how PARENT could be adapted to better meet the needs of Black and African American families, Seattle Children’s Research Institute researchers partnered with Nationwide Children’s Hospital Primary Care Network (NCH-PCN) and12 of their pediatric clinics in Columbus, Ohio
The PARENT Study Aims…
The PARENT study utilizes a STEPPED-WEDGE randomized trial approach.
This approach has 2 key features…
-
Cluster Randomization
Clinics are randomly assigned to 5 different clusters to begin the study.
-
Sequential transition
All Clusters will begin in the control condition (traditional WCC visits without the PARENT model).
Each cluster is randomly assigned in sequence to cross over to the Intervention Conditions (Adapted PARENT modified WCC visits) until all 5 clusters are fully exposed to the Intervention (The adapted PARENT model).
THE ADAPTATION AND IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS
THE PARENT STUDY TIMELINE
The study began in December 2022
The markers T1-T7 represent the EHR data pulls of all eligible children (9-15 months) for all 12 clinics in the previous 9-month period.
